Sports Chiropractic is a specialty area within chiropractic. To practice as a Sports Chiropractor generally requires the Chiropractor to undertake additional post-graduate qualifications in sports injury management. The additional study allows the Sports Chiropractor to draw from a greater set of tools when assessing and treating injuries to effectively treat injuries in all areas of the body, not just the spine.
IS SPORTS CHIROPRACTIC ONLY FOR ATHLETES?
No, although our specialist training equips us well for sporting injuries, the same treatment approach is extremely effective on non-sporting injuries. Sports chiropractic at Sport and Spine follows current best practice guidelines in injury evaluation and management, and includes a unique functional movement evaluation that has been developed to identify underlying causes and tailor the most effective treatment options to the individual.
DO YOU WORK WITH OTHERS?
A multidisciplinary approach to injury management is common in a sports chiropractic practice and Sport and Spine is no different. We regularly work with like-minded health professionals at the top of their field, including Sports Physicians, Doctors, Physiotherapists, Massage therapists, Podiatrists, Nutritionists and other specialists as required. This recognition of interdisciplinary strengths helps us work toward the best possible injury solution for the individual. We will let you know if we can help, or do our best to point you in the direction of someone who can.
