This is one of the more traditional chiropractic adjustment techniques and can be considered the most manual technique utilised at Sport and Spine Chiropractic. It involves a manual therapeutic thrust applied by hand, using controlled leverage, amplitude, and velocity in a specific direction to an isolated joint. This can be applied to the spine, or extremities such as the ankle, knee, hip, wrist, elbow, or shoulder to help restore appropriate joint function.
If manual techniques are not indicated or preferred then the Thompson adjustment technique can be utilised. It can be considered a moderate force technique and involves a thrust applied by hand, to an isolated joint using specially designed tables to assist. This technique can also be applied to the spine, or extremities as required.
If manual or table assisted techniques are not indicated or preferred then the Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique (AMCT) can be utilised. This is the lowest force technique available at Sport and Spine and involves delivering a small thrust using a specially designed instrument, to an isolated joint. This technique can also be applied to the spine, or extremities as required.
